Is there support for attending the conference?

Unfortunately, no financial statements of support can be granted by the conference organizations.

Is there a possibility to participate in the conference virtually?

Due to the conference concept, an intensive continuous collaboration within working groups, a virtual participation is not possible. However, we are currently looking into the possibility of either streaming keynotes live or providing a recording.

What are the form requirements for the Final Paper?

While a follow-up format to the popular RIPE readers (https://iapmr.media/ripe-publications/) is being worked on, not all contributions would be gathered in this one either. The format requirements for the final paper are therefore quite open.

The final paper has to be submitted as a Word or PDF file and should not exceed or fall below a length of 3,500 to 8,000 words, not including tables and references. Any common scientific format (e.g. APA) is allowed. Please note that the submitted papers will be made available to all workgroup participants in preparation for the conference.

In addition to the final paper, we would also like to ask you for an extended abstract (word file, max. 10,000 characters and no figures), as the ORF will print a book of abstracts for the conference.

For both, the deadline is August 15, 2022. Please send the documents to ripe2022.publizistik@univie.ac.at

What is this RIPE workgroup format?

The RIPE conference is characterized by its intensive workgroup format. This involves working together in groups of 8 to a maximum of 12 papers for the entire duration of the conference (probably 5 sessions of 75 minutes). In addition to the presentation and discussion of the papers, the aim is to work on which larger theoretical contribution these findings can be derived from. The process will be guided by workgroup moderators, who will also present and discuss the joint results in the plenary session at the end of the conference.
